Wellbeing Days at Truck Park Brescia Est
Castenedolo (Brescia), Italy
European Wellbeing Initiative – Italian Edition at Truck Park Brescia Est: A Landmark Celebration of Driver Wellbeing (June 5–7, 2026)
Nestled at the bustling Truck Park Brescia Est — Europe’s largest secure truck parking area, managed by A4 Trading S.r.l. (part of the A4 Holding Group) and proudly EU Standard Gold-certified — the European Wellbeing Initiative (Ewellin, powered by ESPORG) successfully launched its first-ever Italian edition. Held from June 5 to 7, 2026, in close synergy with the dynamic Universal Truck Show, this three-day immersive event embodied the campaign’s powerful core message: “Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe, Live Well.”
By highlighting the direct link between high-quality safe infrastructure and enhanced driver health, restorative rest, and professional quality of life, the event marked a historic milestone for Italy’s transport sector. It demonstrated how secure, welcoming parking facilities serve as true wellbeing hubs, reducing fatigue-related risks, preventing accidents, and supporting the physical, mental, and social health of professional drivers — the indispensable backbone of Europe’s supply chain.
Day 1 – High-Level Institutional Engagement (Friday, June 5)
The formal program opened with a strong institutional session that united key European and Italian stakeholders, with particular emphasis on the essential role of public institutions in advancing driver wellbeing.
Key moments included:
– Welcome Speech by Pier Giovanni Pisani, Director and Amministratore Unico of A4 Trading S.r.l. and visionary host of Italy’s first European Wellbeing Initiative event. A passionate and inspirational leader deeply committed to driver wellbeing, Pier Giovanni has transformed Truck Park Brescia Est into a model of excellence, placing the health, safety, and dignity of professional drivers at the very heart of his vision. In his address, he showcased the outstanding hospitality and world-class facilities of the park (173,000 sqm, 265 parking spaces, 24/7 security with video surveillance and guards, hotel rooms, restaurant-pizzeria, showers, laundry, fuel station, truck wash, mechanic shop, and dedicated driver lounges), underlining his firm belief that quality infrastructure is fundamental to better lives on the road.
– Institutional Speech by Alfredo Baldi, Senior Project Manager at RAM S.p.A., who delivered compelling insights into Italy’s national strategies for transport and logistics infrastructure. Baldi emphasized the critical importance of public-private collaboration in expanding Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPAs), detailing how targeted investments and policy support can bridge existing gaps, improve supply chain resilience, and directly contribute to better working conditions for drivers. His speech underscored RAM S.p.A.’s strong commitment to evidence-based initiatives that prioritize driver wellbeing as a cornerstone of a safer and more sustainable European transport system.
– Inspiring address by Druselia Betea, Head of Ewellin – European Wellbeing Initiative (powered by ESPORG), who delivered powerful motivational words that resonated deeply with the audience:
“Today we are not just talking about parking spaces — we are investing in human lives. Every secure parking spot, every moment of restorative rest, and every act of care we provide is a step toward ensuring that professional drivers return home safely to their families. This is our shared mission: to transform infrastructure into wellbeing, fatigue into vitality, and isolation into connection. Together, we can build a Europe where drivers are valued, supported, and empowered to thrive on every journey. Drive Safe. Park Safe. Work Safe. Live Well.”
Dirk Penasse, General Manager of ESPORG, complemented this vision with a strong overview of the broader European context. He highlighted the crucial role of modern Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas, which are no longer merely concrete lots but have evolved into essential wellbeing hubs — dynamic spaces that combine security, comfort, health services, and social connection to genuinely support drivers’ physical and mental health.
Days 2 & 3 – Direct Driver-Focused Wellbeing (Saturday & Sunday, June 6–7)
The weekend transformed the event into a vibrant, hands-on celebration for drivers, perfectly integrated with the Universal Truck Show. Sessions from the Wellbeing Initiative took center stage and were broadcast live on local television and radio, reaching a broad audience and amplifying the prevention-focused message.
Core activities emphasized education, prevention, and practical support:
Integrated awareness-raising sessions and free health check-ups, which combined practical education with personalized health insights. Drivers participated in informative sessions on healthy nutrition, proper hydration, regular physical exercise, quality sleep habits, and effective stress management techniques tailored to the realities of life on the road. These were paired with free health check-ups offering quick, non-invasive assessments of key vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and basic body composition metrics. Healthcare professionals provided immediate personalized feedback, delivering tailored recommendations to help drivers better manage risks associated with sedentary lifestyles, irregular schedules, and long hours behind the wheel — directly connecting better personal health to improved energy, focus, and safer driving performance.
Two daily osteopathy sessions conducted by Gregorio Pisani, a dedicated student of osteopathy with a strong focus on prevention. These practical and highly appreciated sessions covered correct posture for long-haul driving, targeted stretching exercises to relieve tension, and proactive strategies to prevent musculoskeletal disorders, back pain, and other occupation-related conditions common among professional drivers. Gregorio’s approachable and expert guidance empowered participants with simple, immediately applicable techniques to improve daily comfort and long-term health.
Fun community moments including the “Safety Challenge,” an interactive and educational activity designed to raise awareness among drivers about the importance of vigilance and paying attention to all road users — including pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles. This fun yet impactful challenge promoted shared responsibility and best practices for improving overall road safety
These activities reinforced the initiative’s philosophy: shifting from mere awareness to concrete action, empowering drivers with tools for better health, safer journeys, and a stronger work-life balance.
Lasting Impact and Core Message
This groundbreaking event in Brescia not only celebrated Italy’s first participation in the ESPORG Wellbeing Campaign but also strengthened collaboration among institutions (with strong contributions from RAM S.p.A.), operators, associations, and drivers. It vividly illustrated how Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPAs) go far beyond basic parking — becoming vital spaces for physical recovery, mental recharge, social connection, and overall resilience in the transport ecosystem.
Participants departed with renewed energy, practical knowledge, and a shared commitment to elevating standards across Europe. The success of this edition paves the way for expanded wellbeing-focused initiatives, contributing to fewer accidents, higher driver satisfaction, and a more sustainable European logistics network.
Drive Safe. Park Safe. Work Safe. Live Well.
This was more than an event — it was a powerful affirmation that investing in driver wellbeing is investing in safer roads and a stronger Europe.
