The Ewellin European Wellbeing Initiative, powered by ESPORG, brought vital support to the transport sector at Solutrans – the leading international trade fair for road and urban transport solutions in Lyon, France.

Aligning with our “Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe, Live Well” campaign, Ewellin hosted a Wellbeing Corner that extended beyond drivers to include staff across the transport and logistics sector, emphasizing holistic health for all professionals keeping Europe moving.

During the event, we conducted free health check-ups for over 50 participants—not only professional drivers but also logistics staff, managers, and support teams. Certified health professionals performed quick, non-invasive assessments, measuring key metrics like blood pressure, BMI, SpO2 (oxygen saturation), glucose levels, and more. Participants discovered their biological age and received customized recommendations for healthier lifestyles, addressing common challenges such as irregular shifts, stress, and physical strain. This inclusive approach highlighted how wellbeing benefits the entire workforce, reducing risks like fatigue and boosting overall productivity.

A key feature was our expanded Wellbeing Workshop, where attendees engaged in interactive sessions on practical strategies for on-the-road health. We delved into topics like ergonomic driving tips, mental health resilience, balanced nutrition for shift workers, and incorporating quick exercises into daily routines. The workshop fostered discussions on creating supportive workplace cultures, with real-world case studies from certified Secure Truck Parking Areas (SSTPAs).

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants noting how these tools can prevent burnout and enhance safety.

We also advanced our Pledge for Driver and Staff Wellbeing, gaining several new signatories from industry leaders, associations, and companies committed to better conditions. This pledge calls for improved rest facilities, mental health resources, and sustainable practices to combat sector-wide issues like cargo theft and driver shortages.
