We are pleased to announce our participation in another important ELA information event, this time organised by the European Labour Authority (ELA) in collaboration with the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia (ZSSS).

About the Event

This hybrid information event is designed for Slovenian trade-union representatives active in the road transport sector. It aims to provide clear, practical knowledge about Mobility Package I rules, enforcement practices, and the daily challenges faced by drivers and unions.

The programme includes expert presentations on driving and rest time rules, tachograph use, posting of drivers, and real experiences from the field. A dedicated panel discussion will explore how enforcement works in practice and how trade unions can best support their members in staying compliant.

Our Contribution – Bringing Wellbeing into the Conversation

In the session “Safe and Secure Parking Area (SSPA) in practice & network outlook”, a representative of the European Secure Parking Organisation (ESPORG) and the European Wellbeing Initiative (Ewellin) will speak about:

  • The crucial role of quality secure parking in enabling compliant rest periods
  • How safe and welcoming rest areas directly support driver wellbeing, fatigue prevention, and road safety
  • The “Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe & Live Well” campaign and the Wellbeing Pledge
  • The growing European network of ESPORG Member parkings and the “Home Away from Home” concept

We will also highlight real driver needs and show how good parking infrastructure contributes to fairer labour mobility and better working conditions across Europe.

Why This Event Matters for the Wellbeing Campaign

This invitation perfectly complements our Wellbeing Days series and the “Park Safe” campaign. By speaking directly to trade-union representatives — the people who support and advise drivers every day — we help bridge the gap between EU rules and daily reality on the road.

The event strengthens collaboration between ELA, national authorities, trade unions, and ESPORG, while reinforcing that driver wellbeing and quality parking are essential parts of fair and safe international road transport.
